Brad Finkle, owner of Creative Decorating in Omaha, makes an adjustment to a display in Bayliss Park. The Council Bluffs Area Chamber of Commerce hired Creative Decorating to build 35 displays pieces for the Winter Wonderland of Lights celebration scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday. Local dignitaries will flip the switch turning the lights on during a ceremony at the northeast corner of the park.
Finkle will finish an 18-foot light display Monday afternoon that will illuminate the park’s fountain, accented by scenes depicting children sledding, Victorian skaters and ice-fishing penguins. The event Monday will mark the start of Winterfest. Free carriage rides around downtown will be offered during the event, along with entertainment until 7:30 p.m.
